The history of Opinel goes back more than 125 years to the province of Savoie at the foot of the French Alps, where Joseph Opinel developed the simple and functional knives that have made the French knife a worldwide icon. The folding knives in the N°6 range are fitted with the patented Virobloc lock, which fixes the blade both in transit and in use. 95% of the wood used for the handles comes from French forests. The handle is finished with a varnish that protects against moisture and discolouration.
