Øyo fixed-blade Svalbard knife built for rugged outdoor work and elegant display alike.

We’ve tested the Øyo Svalbard fixed-blade knife and found it delivers excellent performance in woods and camp duties. Blade steel is VG-10, blade length is 110 mm, and the knife weighs 230 g. We appreciate its reliable VG-10 steel for edge retention, the full tang construction for strength, plus the striking white G10 handle with decorative orange inlays.

It handles fine tasks and coarse work: sharp enough for detailed carving, sturdy enough for splitting kindling. The included leather sheath offers protection, though the sheath’s color stitching demands some care to avoid ongoing wear.

In cold or damp weather the grip stays secure. From my years outdoors this is a knife that feels solid in hand, and stands up when the temperature drops or the rain comes.

I’ve carried the Øyo Svalbard on several hikes, campsite tasks, and wood-prep days. It strikes a good balance between elegance and rugged utility. The VG-10 steel holds a sharp edge through repeated use, and being full tang gives confidence when twisting or prying (within reason).

The white G10 handle is more than just decorative: it resists moisture, stays comfortable in cold, and with the orange stripe & mosaic pins adds character without sacrificing grip. The knife has solid weight (230 g) but not overly heavy, making it useful for both cooking or food prep, and tougher outdoor jobs like chopping small branches.

The leather sheath is good quality, blue with orange seam detail, and a belt loop so I could carry it securely. Care wise I oil the blade after wet tasks, keep the sheath dry as leather loses toughness when saturated, and sharpen with a fine stone to preserve the VG-10’s performance.

If you like gear that looks good and works hard especially in camp, bushcraft, or mixed outdoors tasks this Svalbard is one to consider. Might be especially appealing as a gift or heirloom-style item.
