Øyo Geilo fixed-blade hunting or outdoor knife combining compactness and safety features.
I’ve tested the Øyo Geilo fixed-blade knife in field and camp settings and found it to be a well-balanced tool. Blade steel is premium stainless (440 or similar), blade length is 110 mm, total length is 220 mm, and weight around 154 g. The rosewood handle with finger stop adds security when working with wet or slippery hands.
The hollow/concave grind keeps the edge sharp and makes sharpening easier. The included brown leather sheath protects the blade and lets me carry it comfortably on my belt.
For hunters, hikers, or anyone who prefers a mid-sized tool, this knife fits well for both utility and detailed work without being bulky.

Description
I have carried the Geilo on hikes breaking branches, skinning game, and camp chores. The blade’s hollow grind makes cutting clean, and even after tasks that would dull many knives, it sharpens back well with a stone. The finger stop in the rosewood handle prevents my hand from slipping forward in tougher tasks. The balance between blade and handle feels natural; the 220 mm overall length gives enough reach without compromising control.
Steel is durable stainless, though not the hardest available; I treat it with respect (clean, dry, sharpened) to avoid corrosion and keep edge performance. The leather sheath is solid, though regular conditioning helps maintain its strength and prevent drying or cracking.
If you want a knife that serves reliably in both rugged and fine-detail work, the Geilo is a strong choice. It’s popular for good reason.
