The Aito Ystävä puukko blends tradition with everyday function. With an overall length of about 189 mm and a blade length of around 85 mm, it provides a balanced feel for both camp and workshop use. The blade is made of high carbon steel, hardened to around 57–58 HRC, giving it excellent sharpness and easy maintenance. The blade thickness is approximately 3 mm with a width near 19 mm at the base.

Its handle is made from stacked birch bark with brass spacers and polished end caps. The warm texture of the bark offers a natural grip that stays secure even when wet. The visible full tang construction ensures durability under stress. It comes with a leather sheath featuring Finnish decorative embossing and a flexible belt loop for comfortable carry.

In practice, this puukko performs exceptionally in carving, bushcraft, and small game preparation. I find it well balanced for precise control while sturdy enough for daily outdoor chores. Because it uses carbon steel, it develops a natural patina over time, which adds charm and light corrosion resistance. A touch of oil after use keeps it in top condition.
