Elegant classic Helle folding knife made for outdoor carry and daily use.

We have examined the Helle Bleja, the very first folding knife Helle ever brought into production, and find it a beautifully crafted all-round companion for outdoor tasks and everyday carry. It has a 85 mm blade of three-layer stainless steel and a handle of Masur birch handle length approx 115 mm. I carried it on walks and fishing trips where I used it to cut rope, clean small fish, and open gear—it felt secure and precise.

Benefits are its mix of heritage and craftsmanship, the triple layer steel offering durability and rust resistance, and the leather sheath with belt loop for safe carry. Limitations are that as a folding knife it cannot take heavy chopping or splitting.

I remember opening it late at dusk by the river and appreciating its smooth action and how the birch handle warmed in my hand.

I have used the Helle Bleja in forest environments, campsites, and urban outdoor settings. The 85 mm blade built from three-layer (laminated) stainless steel gives both resilience and ease of sharpening. The Masur birch handle feels warm and natural, with enough grip so that cutting tasks even in damp conditions are confident. The accompanying genuine leather sheath with an integrated belt loop lets me carry it safely and access it quickly.

Folded length is 117 mm so it fits well in pockets or pouches; when open, the blade length 85 mm gives enough reach for many tasks from prepare food to clean fish or cut cord. Though out of its comfort zone for woodwork, it shines at everyday outdoor or travel tasks.

Care tips: keep blade dry, oil handle occasionally, sharpen with fine stones. If you want a folding knife with character and performance, this one is special. Stock may be limited order soon if you want it.
