Robust fixed blade from Gerber made for outdoor tasks with full-tang strength and reliable grip.
We’ve used the Gerber Spine Fixed Green for chopping, slicing, pruning, and campsite duty. It is a fixed blade knife with a drop-point 7Cr17MoV stainless steel blade of about 95 mm, full-tang build, and a rubberized green handle. The sheath is made of glass-filled nylon (GFN) for belt carry.
It excels in rugged outdoor use though it’s a bit large for tight precision work. I liked how solid it felt even when wet or muddy.

Description
I’ve been outdoors for decades and I value knives that are simple, durable, and ready for whatever comes. The Gerber Spine Fixed Green does just that. The 7Cr17MoV steel holds a decent edge and is easier to sharpen in the field than higher alloy steels. Its stonewash finish helps hide scratches and minimize glare. The full-tang design means no weak points when applying pressure or twisting, which gives me confidence when using it for tasks like batoning kindling or cutting wood for fire.
The handle is rubberized and textured, offering good grip even in damp or cold conditions. I especially like the generous lanyard hole for securing it with cord or paracord. The sheath is durable, belt friendly, and protective keeps the blade safely stowed when hiking. The weight is enough that you notice it, but not so heavy that it becomes a burden. For camping, bushcraft, or trail duty this is a dependable tool. If I were carrying it over long distances, I’d ensure the sheath doesn’t rub uncomfortably and sharpen the edge periodically.
If you want a strong, simple tool that won’t let you down in outdoors work, this is a fine pick worth having if you do serious camp chores.
