Description
This knife emerges from Finnish hunting tradition with design focused on control and strength. The blade is crafted from high carbon steel hardened to approximately 57 to 58 HRC, giving it durability and edge retention. Its profile is suited for deep cuts in meat and bone, while the integrated finger guard offers added safety during field dressing. The handle is shaped generously to fill the palm and maintain grip stability during rigorous use.
When I use this knife in the field on large game such as moose, I value its balance and confidence under pressure. It feels substantial yet not overly heavy, allowing me to wield it precisely in tight areas. The finger guard is especially beneficial when my hands are slick or when I’m working near ribs or organs. With time the carbon steel forms a patina that helps reduce surface corrosion. After each outing I clean and dry the blade, then apply a thin oil layer to preserve the steel.
For hunters seeking a dependable major-game knife that marries safety, strength, and tradition, this model stands as a trustworthy option. Demand for specialized hunting knives remains steady, so securing one early ensures you don’t miss out.
