I’ve been using folding knives for decades and the Zilch impresses by doing a lot with very little. The 7Cr17MoV blade won’t match top-tier alloys for edge retention, but it is easy to sharpen and holds up well for everyday cutting tasks. The stonewash finish helps hide wear, minimizing the look of scratches. The drop-point shape gives good utility balanced tip strength and decent slicing performance.
The liner lock works solidly; I felt no looseness when open. The GRN handle is lightweight and textured enough to give grip, even when my hands are wet. I like the spine design and exposed barrels it adds style without much bulk. The thumb stud and nail-nick deployment options add versatility. The pocket clip is tip-up, right-hand carry only, which may limit left-hand users. While it is light, the knife feels durable in hand.
Use it for utility, EDC, or urban carry. Not for heavy bushcraft or survival abuse. Regular cleaning, especially around pivot and lock, will help maintain function. If you want something affordable, stylish, and useful around town, the Zilch hits that sweet spot.
