I’ve carried the Randy Newberg DTS Folder in wet, cold, muddy field conditions and it stands up well. The primary drop-point blade made of 440C stainless steel cuts meat cleanly and with good edge retention. The secondary tendon tool is perfect for severing connective tissue without harming the main blade. The locking mechanism is a bar lock (some sources say pivot lock for the primary / lock-back for the tendon tool), which gives confidence under pressure. The handle combines rubber and nylon for grip even when hands are slippery or cold. The reflective patch is small but it helps me locate it at dusk or in low light.
Some limits: at nearly 187 g, it isn’t feather-light; and with two blades there’s more cleaning needed, especially if used in wet or dirty conditions. But its durability more than offsets those trade-offs. If you hunt or process game regularly, this is a worthwhile tool in your pack.
