Buck 691 Zipper hunting knife with rubber handle and gut hook.

We all know those moments in the hunt when a reliable knife makes all the difference. The Buck 691 Zipper is a fixed blade knife in 420HC steel with a gut hook that gives control and precision. With an overall length of 220 mm, a blade length of 107 mm, and a weight of 235 g, it is a robust choice for hunting and outdoor life. Folded length not applicable.

The rubber handle with brass guard sits securely in the hand, even in rain. The knife comes with a nylon sheath, making it easy to carry. It is strong in practical use, but not the lightest model for longer treks.

I have used it myself for field dressing roe deer on a cold autumn morning, and the gut hook saved me both time and trouble.

I have used many hunting knives over the years, and the Buck 691 Zipper is one of the most well-thought-out. The 420HC steel blade holds its edge for a long time and is easy to maintain with a simple whetstone. The Rockwell hardness is about 58 HRC, which strikes a good balance between strength and sharpness. The overall length of 220 mm makes it suitable for both heavier tasks and precise cuts. The 107 mm blade length is ideal for game processing, and the 235 g weight gives stability without feeling clumsy.

The 113 mm rubber handle provides a firm grip, even with cold fingers, and the brass guard adds both strength and classic style. The nylon sheath protects the knife during transport and keeps it ready when needed.

I clearly remember one evening hunt where the gut hook made it quick to open the deer without damaging the entrails. It is a tool you will be glad to have along.
If you want a faithful companion for hunting and the outdoors, the Buck 691 Zipper is a safe choice. Do not wait too long – this is a knife many hunters rely on.
