I’ve used slim carrying knives almost every day for decades. What I appreciate about the Zilch Coyote is how it keeps weight down while having all the essentials. The blade is about 79 mm long, drop-point shape, black coated to reduce glare and resist corrosion. Handle is glass-filled nylon (or similar polymer, often called GFN/FRN) in Coyote Brown, with exposed barrels and a unique spine design that adds a little grip and style without adding much weight.
The knife locks up with a liner-lock, which is simple, reliable, and easy to maintain. Deployment is via a thumb stud (and/or nail nick depending on preference). The pocket clip is tip-up and right hand. Overall when open it’s about 183 mm; closed it’s ~ 105 mm. The weight is about 62 g, so light that most times I forget it’s in my pocket until I need it.
Some limitations: the steel 7Cr17MoV is decent for stainless but won’t hold an edge as long under hard use compared to premium steels. The black coating will wear over time. The handle is slim, so for large tasks or heavy leverage it won’t match a full-size slab handle. But for everyday carry, backup knife, or lighter tasks, it performs well.
If you want a reliable, lightweight EDC folder with style, this Zilch Coyote is a great pick. Good to order before stock runs low.
