I’ve used this folder for field dressing, cutting through hide, trimming sinew, and even light carving. The replaceable #60 razor blade feels surgical super sharp right out of the box but textures, lean cuts, and safety matter more than raw toughness here. Every time I hit soft bone or tough skin, it slices cleanly if aligned well.
Handle is high-visibility orange with soft rubber overmold. Even when my hands were cold or wet, I got good grip. The large finger choil enhances control and keeps fingers safe. Blade deployment and replacement are tool-less: just press the Split Sec™ push-button to release and swap in a fresh blade. No screwdrivers needed.
Lightweight, compact, easy to clean. It won’t replace a fixed blade for heavy chopping or batoning, and replaceable blades are thinner, more prone to wear or break under misuse. But for skinned game, trap line cutting, or field-care of meat, it’s excellent. If you do much hunting, it’s worth having one always ready.
