I’ve used the Gerber Pledge Blue in daily tasks: opening packages, cutting cord, light food prep, even some scraping. The blade steel 7Cr17MoV is affordable and decent: it sharpens well, holds edge modestly, but needs more frequent touch-ups than premium steels. The reverse tanto / Wharncliffe shape gives a strong tip good for piercing, and a straight edge section good for precision slicing.
Handle material is blue GFN with subtle texture lightweight and grippy, though get gloves you may want more grip in wet conditions. Hardware includes a liner lock for safety, a reversible thumbstud so you can deploy blade from either side, and a reversible tip-up pocket clip so you can carry right or left. The overall closed profile is slim, making it comfortable in the pocket. It weighs about 82 g, so light enough for daily carry yet feels stable. Warranty is at least 25 years via Gerber. If you want a stylish, reliable EDC folder without breaking the bank, this is a strong pick.
