I often find myself needing a saw that does more than one job when in the outdoors. The Exchange-A-Blade delivers by including two stainless steel blades (coarse and fine) that you can change easily using a push-button lock. The blade for wood handles saplings, branches, and rough cuts; the fine blade works for smoother cuts, bone, or hardwoods.
The handle is made of glass-filled nylon with Kraton/rubber inserts (sometimes called Gator Grip) so it holds well even with wet hands or when wearing gloves. When folded for carry, it’s about 246 mm long closed; fully open length is about 360 mm. The blade (cutting edge) is around 180 mm. It weighs roughly 246 g. A black nylon sheath is included for safe storage and transport.
Trade-offs: when using the saw, you must pull rather than push aggressively the blade is thin so pushing too hard or bending can lead to damage. It is best suited to medium-use not heavy industrial abuse. But for camping, hunting, and general wilderness work it’s very serviceable.
