The Cudeman 290-R is a classic hunting fixed-blade built for dependable performance in the field. I’ve found its balanced size and straightforward design make it versatile for both hunting and outdoor utility tasks from field dressing game to cutting cord or preparing kindling around camp.
This knife features a robust MOVA stainless steel blade with a 55 HRC hardness rating, giving a good mix of edge retention and toughness suitable for heavy use. The plain edge drop-point blade measures approximately 110 mm, paired with a pakkawood handle that feels secure and ergonomic in hand. With an overall length around 225 mm and a balanced weight 201 g, it’s substantial enough for demanding cutting work without being cumbersome. An included leather sheath keeps the knife secure and easily accessible during outdoor activities.
Consider this knife as a dependable field tool if you want a traditional hunting blade backed by solid materials and classic styling. Keep it sharp and protected in its sheath between uses and it will be ready for your next outdoor adventure.
